Contemporary frames for Investment art
Investment works should always be kept in readily saleable condition. Apart from regular condition reviews, frames also need to be updated now and again.
This is part of the process of ensuring that these pieces remain relevant. In some cases the symbiosis of painting and frame even adds to the authenticity, for example the works of Tinus de Jongh, in the traditional black and often ugly frame.
Very often they appear harsh in modern contemporary decor, in which case there is a good case to be put forward for a second more attractive frame (whilst not discarding the original which would accompany the artwork for resale)
This week we would like to showcase the recent framing project of a Tinus de Jongh painting by a client the late Shaun Johnson. This example reflects a pleasing balance between tradition and modernity and proves that careful selection of elements, can indeed enhance the overall effect.
